Recently, Congressman Jon Runyan sent out this letter to
some of his constituents. Never mind the fact that the recipient of this copy
is not Medicare-eligible, the letter shows that Runyan is more concerned with
scoring political points than helping his constituents.
The letter was sent out on the eve of the sign-up period for
Obamacare, something that the recipient of this letter might qualify for. Yet,
there’s no mention in the letter on how to enroll or where to get more
information.
This is not surprising because Runyan has been a solid vote
for the anti-healthcare Tea Party platform. That’s his prerogative. But he shouldn’t
be misusing his franking privilege by leaving out an important program that his
constituents can benefit from.
